BRIGHT FUTURES SCHOLARSHIP- All Seniors should now apply for the bright futures scholarship at https://www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org. All seniors should apply before February 9th, including those that are applying for out of state colleges, GPA is below 3.0, don't have enough community service hours yet, don't have the test score yet. Students have until May to get community service hours turned into their Counselor, they have until the June ACT/SAT to get the score they need, and until the final grades are out to get the GPA. Instruction sheets were given out in homeroom Dec. 9th, if you didn't get the information see Mrs. Aplin in Guidance for a copy.
EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS- Seniors have until January 7th, to apply on line for these local scholarships. A letter of recommendation from a teacher and essays are needed to complete the application. Directions are on line at http://www.educationfoundation.com. Additional directions were given out in homeroom, if you didn't get them see Mrs. Aplin before the winter break.
JUNIOR FREE SAT- On January 26th, juniors will be meeting with Mrs. Aplin through their English classes to register for the free SAT. Juniors may select a March, May or June test date for their one free test. Registration cannot be done online for this test, there is a special form for this free test. You may not receive money back for a test date you have already paid for in March, May or June. If you miss the test date you sign up for there will be no option of changing the date. It is important to sign up for the month you know you can get to the test center. This is a college entrance test and students should prepare. We offer free Saturday and online prep courses.
